Eric was born on the North Shore of Chicago where he began formal piano lessons at age 6. Classically trained from an early age, he developed as a musician playing in numerous bands and as a solo musician while he attended New Trier High School. He mastered the technique necessary to play many of the great classical pieces of our time such as Rachmaninoff Prelude in G minor, Lizst Un Sospiro, and Bethoven Piano Sonata No. 14. While music was his passion, practicality won out. He attended the University of Illinois Chicago where he graduated and began a career in finance. He spent years working in hedge funds and asset management companies in Chicago. All the while moving his piano from apartment to apartment taking lessons from numerous teachers in the city.
Eric eventually auditioned and was accepted to the Bloom School of Jazz, the oldest jazz school in Chicago. Under the direction and mentorship of David Bloom, Eric began to reach his true potential as a pianist. Eventually Eric could not deny what was obvious to everyone else. He left finance behind and began playing and teaching full time. He currently plays regularly in the Chicago area and teaches throughout all the suburbs of the North Shore.
